Supporting students and creating a community of care

Our Mission

The Care Team supports student well-being and success by identifying concerns, connecting students with resources, and coordinating compassionate, confidential responses that foster a safe and supportive campus community.

The Care Team is a group of professionals from various offices on campus who respond to student concerns and support students in crisis.  Housed out of the Dean of Students’ office, the Care Team supports students experiencing academic difficulty, grief/loss concerns, financial concerns, food and housing insecurity, illness/injury, mental health concerns, and more.  We provide consultation and direct intervention by our case managers who represent a variety of support services and stakeholders on campus.

The Care Team does not respond to emergencies, if the concern is immediate, contact University Police at (716) 878-6333 for on-campus incidents or local police for off-campus concerns.  The National Lifeline is also available by calling or texting 988.

If a student is in crisis and in need of additional support, please reach out to the Care Team by filling out a referral form (students can self-refer).  If you have any questions or issues with the form, please reach out to the Dean of Students' Office.
